NRVC UPDATE
THIS PAST SPRING THE NRVCreleased its 2020 Study on RecentVocations to Religious Life. Thestudy was an 11-year follow-upto our groundbreaking 2009Study on Recent Vocations thatset benchmarks for the newcentury on tracking vocationtrends and the characteristicsof new members to religiousinstitutes.
As you will read in the VISIONarticle about the study, “Ournewest religious possess anage-old Christian virtue: hope,”the men and women who enterreligious life today are hope-filled people. That is good newsfor all of us because what theworld needs now, more thanever, is hope. Hope that we willface difficulties with courage;hope that we will come to theother side of a crisis strongerand wiser; hope that who we arematters and what we do makesa difference.
At NRVC we are committedto shining the light of hope onour members, who work invocation ministry, and thosethey serve, namely you—andall spiritual seekers trying togain a better understanding ofGod’s call and the appropriateresponse.
Amid the many challengesyou will face in the coming yearsas you determine your life’scourse, remember, the words ofSaint Francis: “All the darknessin the world cannot extinguishthe light of a single candle.”We strive to be thatsingular light for you.
